DMCA & Copyright Notice
ayatulkursi.org/ respects the intellectual property of others and expects its users to do the same. This page explains how to notify us of claimed infringement and how we handle such notices under the EU e-Commerce Directive, Copyright Directive, and — for U.S. rights-holders — the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
1. Our Copyright
Original articles, layout, design, logos, and code on ayatulkursi.org/ are © the ayatulkursi.org/ editorial collective. Public-domain material (the Arabic text of the Qur'an) and third-party material (translations, hadith, audio) are used under their respective licences with attribution. See our Terms of Service, §4.
2. Respect for Third-Party Copyright
We make reasonable efforts to use only public-domain texts, licensed material, and content for which we hold permission. If you believe material on the Site infringes your copyright, please follow the procedure below.
3. How to Submit a Takedown Notice
Send a written notice by email to our designated agent:
Designated Copyright Agent — ayatulkursi.org/
Subject line: “DMCA Takedown Notice”
Your notice must include all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the owner, or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (title, registration, URL, or other identifier).
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material, with a URL on ayatulkursi.org/ specific enough for us to locate it.
- Your contact information: full name, postal address, telephone number, and email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act on behalf of the owner.
Incomplete notices will be returned for clarification and may delay processing.
4. How We Process Notices
On receipt of a compliant notice, we will:
- Acknowledge receipt within 3 business days.
- Review the notice and the content identified.
- If the claim is clearly valid, remove or disable the content promptly (usually within 7 days) and notify the person who posted it (if a user submission).
- If the claim needs clarification, respond with questions before acting.
In borderline cases, we default to temporary removal while we investigate.
5. Counter-Notice
If you are the person whose material was removed and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may send us a counter-notice including:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material removed and the location at which it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the relevant court in the EU (or, for U.S. residents, the federal district court for your address).
After a valid counter-notice we may restore the material in 10–14 days unless the original claimant files a formal legal action.
6. Repeat Infringers
In line with EU and DMCA norms, we terminate the access of users who are repeat infringers.
7. False Claims
Submitting a false or misleading DMCA / copyright notice can expose you to liability for damages, costs, and attorneys’ fees. Please ensure your notice is accurate.
