About the Project

Ayatulkursi.org is a volunteer dawah project dedicated to one verse — Ayat al-Kursi, the Throne Verse (Surah al-Baqarah 2:255). Our goal is to make its recitation, meaning, tafsir, and benefits freely accessible to Muslims and seekers worldwide in a form that is faithful to the classical Sunni tradition.

In one line: A free, ad-supported reading and listening resource for the single most recited verse of the Qur’an — with every claim traceable to the Qur’an, authentic hadith, or classical tafsir.

Our Mission

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ called Ayat al-Kursi “the greatest verse in the Qur’an” (Sahih Muslim 810). Millions of Muslims recite it every day — after salah, before sleep, and as protection. Yet online explanations vary widely in quality. Our mission is simple: present this verse with the same care scholars of Islam have always given it.

  • Translate accurately, not loosely.
  • Cite classical tafsir — not opinions.
  • Link every hadith to a verifiable source.
  • Keep the site free, fast, and readable on any device.

Who We Are

Ayatulkursi.org is run as an informal dawah collective — a small international team of volunteers who edit, proofread, and maintain the site. We are not a registered charity or company, and we do not speak for any institution. We are readers of the Qur’an who want others to find it as easily as we did.

Lead editor: Zakir Mohammed — a reverted Muslim from India who founded the project and coordinates the volunteer team. He is responsible for editorial direction, source verification, and reader correspondence.

Our Editorial Standards

Every page on this site follows a strict source hierarchy: the Qur’an first, then the six authentic hadith collections, then classical tafsir works of recognized Sunni scholarship. Weak (da’if) and fabricated (mawdu’) narrations are flagged explicitly or omitted.

The full process is in our Editorial Policy, and the complete list of works we cite is in Sources & Methodology.

How We Fund the Site

The site is funded by three transparent streams:

  1. Display advertising through Google AdSense. Ads never influence content.
  2. Affiliate links (e.g. Amazon Associates) when we recommend books or mushafs. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
  3. Voluntary sadaqah from readers who wish to support us. Details on the Donate page.

None of these streams give advertisers, affiliates, or donors any say in what we publish. If a recommendation carries a commercial link, you will see it disclosed on the page.

Accuracy & Corrections

If you spot an error — a mistranslated word, an unreliable hadith grading, a broken link, or anything else — please write to us at [email protected]. We read every message, and corrections are usually made within a few days. See our corrections policy for details.
