Ayatul Kursi App Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 November 2026

In short

  • The app has no account and no sign-in. We do not collect your name, email or phone number.
  • Your progress, ticks, streak and settings are stored only on your phone.
  • The app shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may collect your device’s advertising ID and similar data to show and measure ads, as explained below.
  • Ads are never shown during a recitation or on the Arabic text.
  • We use Microsoft Clarity to see, anonymously, how the app is used (which screens, taps and scrolls), so we can make it easier to use, as explained below.

This policy covers the Android app Ayatul Kursi Audio MP3 Offline (package org.ayatulkursi.app) published by AyatulKursi.org. Our website has its own privacy policy.

What stays on your phone

Everything you do in the app is saved only in the app’s private storage on your phone: your language and reciter, your settings, the phrases you have learned, the times you ticked, your streak and counter, your reminder times, and the recitations you saved for offline listening. None of it is sent to us. It is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data in Android settings. If your phone’s own Google backup is on, Android may include this data in that backup, so your progress comes back on a new phone; that backup is in your Google account, not with us.

The home-screen widget reads the same data on your phone to show today’s recitations.

Ads (Google AdMob)

The app is free and is supported by ads from Google AdMob. The app itself does not send any of your data to Google. The Google Mobile Ads SDK inside the app may collect and share:

  • your device’s advertising ID and similar identifiers,
  • your approximate location, worked out from your IP address,
  • information about the ads shown and your interaction with them, and diagnostic data such as crashes and performance.

Google uses this to show ads, to measure them and to prevent fraud. Read how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Only ads rated for general audiences are requested, and we block categories that are not suitable for a Quran app, such as gambling, dating and alcohol.

Your choices. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent with Google’s consent form before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice at any time in the app’s Settings (Ad privacy). Anywhere, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings > Privacy > Ads (or Google > Ads).

Usage statistics (Microsoft Clarity)

To learn how people use the app and what to improve, the app uses Microsoft Clarity. While the app is open, Clarity records how you use its screens: which screens you open, where you tap and scroll, and the device type, Android version, approximate location (from your IP address) and app version. It makes a replay of the session that we can watch, and heatmaps of where people tap.

The app has no account, so this data is not linked to your name, email or phone number. The app has no fields where you type personal information. Clarity uses a random identifier stored in the app, not your advertising ID. By default it uploads only over Wi-Fi.

Microsoft processes this data for us under its privacy statement: privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement. Clarity keeps recordings for a limited time (30 days for most recordings). To stop it, uninstall the app; clearing the app’s data gives you a new random identifier.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages, but it is not designed for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Security and deletion

Downloads use encrypted connections (HTTPS). We hold no personal data from the app; the usage recordings in Clarity are anonymous and expire automatically: uninstalling the app, or clearing its data, removes everything it stored. Data collected by Google for ads is managed under Google’s policy and your advertising ID settings.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Questions: [email protected].
